Job Description

General Summary:

Greenheck’s manufacturing environment is as technically-advanced as the products we manufacture to ensure the quality and comfort of air in buildings around the world.  As an Automation and Controls Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced level of expertise related to the highly-technical production equipment, electrical controls, and lasers that enable us to be a worldwide leader in our industry.  To support operations, the Automation and Controls Team provides round-the-clock service.  The team occasionally works overtime, and is responsive to unforeseen situations which may cause a change in schedule. This position offers premium pay for off shift openings.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety practices are executed, including use of protective equipment as required.  Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and repair, development of manufacturing systems, including but not limited to:
    • Electrical distribution
    • PLC, HMI, and windows-based operator interface
    • Industrial communication
    • Electronic and electromechanical systems
    • CO² and Fiber laser
    • Various motion control and robotics
    • Modern and legacy controllers
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on highly technical equipment including PM work orders on laser resonators and the entire beam path.
  • Assist the maintenance mechanics and provide direction on diagnostic and repair exercises relating to issues of a highly technical nature.
  • Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System to maintain equipment records and work order history.
  • Work with Automation and Controls team members to ensure proper communication and professionalism.
  • Order parts and services as needed.
  • Proactively support continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school in the field of Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • 2 or 4-year degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience is preferred.
