Machine Operator

This position is an Entry-Level position in which the operator will gain the skills, knowledge and experience to progress to the position of Machine Operator II.

• Operates multiple machines, as assigned, in the manufacturing area and performs parts check according to operation manual. Records result of product checks on required forms where applicable.
• Makes simple tool changes and minor machine adjustments to keep parts within quality specification.
• Cleans machines and area prior to shift turn over
• Informs incoming shift of any information affecting production.
• Removes scrap shavings, using safety procedures, from machines to the designated disposal area.
• Must clean and maintain all floors to keep free of oil residue.
• Move material and product as needed.
• Report all safety, quality and maintenance problems immediately.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machines as required
• Notifies supervisor to correct maintenance or quality problems
• Accurately completes all necessary paperwork for end of day production reports
• Be attentive to any abnormal situation or part and report to the supervisor
• Moves defect-free completed product to the next operation staging area and completes records where necessary with assigned machines

Willing to train the right person. Must have a proven good attendance record.
