Job Description

NEG-Shelby is currently interviewing for a Maintenance Industrial Utilities Technician to work in its manufacturing facility in Shelby, NC. This facility manufactures fiber glass products for various applications including wind energy, construction materials, & automotive applications.  This is a high paced production environment which incorporates a continuous flow process (glass).  

Job Requirements:

2 yr. Associates Degree in Industrial HVAC / Refrigeration or equivalent certification training.
2 years Min. Industrial / Manufacturing experience preferred.

Industrial Mechanical experience preferred

Basic knowledge of AC/DC motor controls preferred.

Scope:

Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in all Industrial utility components and equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts; installs equipment requiring highly technical skills

Job Duties:

  • Responds to work orders related to Utilities malfunctions/breakdowns/troubleshooting.
  • Performs equipment installation and preventive maintenance on complex equipment.
  • Performs diagnostic troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or defective parts.
  • Troubleshoot / Service using working knowledge of the following:
    • Industrial Chillers
    • Commercial Industrial HVAC / Refrigeration / Air Wash systems
    • Boilers / Steam systems
    • Industrial Compressed air systems
    • Fire Protection system
    • Natural Gas systems
  • Assists technicians in other crafts in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Directs the work of craft trainees.
  • Always Follows job safety analysis.
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Performs each job duty correctly every time.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
