Job Description

JOB FUNCTION – REQUIREMENTS – SUCCESS FACTORS

Job Function:

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of all the plant equipment in order to minimize machine down time while providing the most effective use of facilities and manpower at the highest quality, lowest cost possible.

The incumbent must have the leadership and supervisory skills to motivate his/her subordinates and to recognize and utilize their talents effectively. The incumbent provides clear day to day direction and is viewed as a leader in the area of continuous improvement. He/she is responsible for all maintenance functions related to operational efficiency.

The incumbent must manage the use of contract maintenance. He/she must allocate work to contracts providing guidelines for integration of this work into the overall maintenance schedules. He/she must provide application of contract maintenance in a cost effective manner.

Requires:

  • BS degree in engineering (Preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in industrial plant operations or equivalent in maintenance related experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Success Factors:

  • Drive change so that the plant processes and operations are continuously improved at an accelerated pace through properly maintained equipment with minimal downtime
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation by providing excellent communications between internal customers, outside contractors and suppliers/vendors.
  • Manage complexity within a continuous operation environment
