Job Description

CORMETECH has fully dedicated, state-of-the art manufacturing facilities, research and development centers and testing laboratories in Charlotte (NC), Cleveland (TN), Durham (NC), and Kings Mountain (NC).

Summary: The Production Manager has specific responsibilities to drive Safety, Quality, Productivity, People Development and Cost Control in the Regeneration Plant. Provides leadership, direction, supervision, and guidance for all Regeneration plant production activities. Ensure excellent safety performance throughout the Regeneration process. Oversees that all health and environmental regulations are maintained during routine operation of the production process. Support management with production data and ensuring best product quality standards for each customer project. Actively oversees selecting, ordering and purchasing chemicals and materials to support the Regeneration process. Must be flexible with being available outside of normal work schedule.

Essential Duties:  •Follow and implement all safety procedures. Follow and implement safety performance standards. Execute, oversee and direct all full-scale rejuvenations, regenerations and wastewater operations. Manage and directs all production personnel including wastewater treatment. Execute and implement best production workflows to reach most efficient throughput. Manage and controls all mass batch chemical mixing process. Execute and suggest better production and generate cost saving scenarios. Present and suggest new chemical and mechanical process equipment. Coordinate and give guidance on production requirements to management. Ensure and secure quality procedure and data to go with each order. Manage production schedules for people, product and equipment in accordance with contract commitments. Assemble and submit monthly reporting metrics and information to the Finance Team. Coordinate and communicate equipment “up-time” issues to maintenance and management. Mange, handle and coordinate all production related inventories requirements. Communicate product flow logistics needs between warehouses and process plants. Support sales process by reviewing proposals and conduct shop tours. Regularly report on production metrics. Summarize data and perform mathematical and statistical analysis. Prepare reports of experiments or test results, including associated graphs, charts, etc.. Identify discrepancies that occur from projected results and formulate conclusions and recommendations based on data obtained. Evaluate and present new/better chemical treatments. Evaluate and assist in the design and implementation of new technologies and process equipment. Follow and implement safety and environmental performance standards. Interact with chemical engineering projects.

Requirements/Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Safety conscious at all times. Able to manage, lead and motivate in a team environment. Demonstrate a strong dedication to safety, quality, and environmental impact. Show strong communication skills to write clear operating instructions and technical reports in a timely manner and communicate well with managers, technical professionals and operating personnel. Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with internal / external customers and suppliers. Strong desire to be a leader and team player in a hands-on position. Evidence of strong problem-solving skills and inherent decision-making ability. Able to manage projects and organize work in an efficient manner. Evidence of working well under stress and time pressures and ability to multi-task. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project. Availability to work flexible hours when needed with minimal notice. Capable of performing calculations pertaining to chemicals (i.e. mixtures, concentrations, reactions, flow rates, etc.). Committed to continued learning and education.

Education and Experience;  B.S. in Engineering or Science is required. B.S. in Chemical Engineering is preferred. 3 to 5 years’ experience in an industrial chemical environment. Chemical analysis experience (ICP & XRF) is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Work Environment; This job operates in a plant environment. This role routinely requires moving around equipment thus safety must always remain a priority. Temperature can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The noise level is high and requires attentiveness along with hearing protection in required areas. Environment can be dusty at times. Elevated and confined space work conditions do exist

Physical Demands: Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of up to 40 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate maintenance equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are inside and outside with routine repeated exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, cleaning fluids, and dirty environment. Must be willing to travel (<5%) and work longer overtime hours on short notice.
