The Utilities Project Coordinator is responsible for administering, coordinating, monitoring, and analyzing utility and construction projects. Duties will include coordinating the plan review approval process for utilities; assisting with maintenance of the City’s GIS mapping of public infrastructures; assisting with the development and implementation of policies and standards; interpreting and applying city ordinances, regulations, and policies; developing and maintaining a lists of infrastructure improvement projects; coordinates and/or performs prioritization, preliminary design, cost estimating, bid preparation, and project coordination of construction projects; assisting in the review of modeling, planning and engineering studies; preparing reports; coordinating construction inspections of utility projects; assisting with easement acquisitions; preparing and maintaining project records; monitoring contractor’s schedules and performance; communicating between the owner, project manager, contractors, public and others; providing feedback on project status; assisting in the permitting functions; and providing assistance to Directors, Superintendents and others during various phases of project design/construction.
Hours – Monday – Friday, first shift. To Compete in the Selection Process: Associate’s Degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, construction, or a related field with experience in engineering and construction management. Must possess a general knowledge of civil engineering practices; computer skills including Microsoft Office; ability to read, comprehend, interpret plans, specifications, codes, and ordinances; demonstrated communications skills with proven effective working relationships; and the ability to adapt to changing work priorities, multi-task, organize while maintaining accurate records and reports. |
